Laurier LaunchPad’s Empiricast, creator of Eventpeeks and Socialpeeks, was selected to receive $125,000 in funding from the Ontario Centre of Excellence (OCE) as part of their Market Readiness Program. The Market Readiness Program helps organizations such as Empiricast move to the next stages of commercialization and supports their growth into scalable businesses by providing vital funding.
According to John Beresford, CEO and co-founder of Empiricast, and Lazaridis MBA ’14 alumni, the LaunchPad experience played an important role in the presentation to OCE and their venture capital partners. The company plans to use the funds received from the Market Readiness Program to inject more full-time positions within Empiricast in 2016.
Empiricast is a Waterloo-based technology company building innovative software that helps businesses take social media in valuable new directions. Empiricast currently has two product lines, Eventpeeks, which provides complete social media analysis and reporting for events, and Socialpeeks, which helps marketers target their campaigns to valuable influencers.
