A winning combination for a Leader. Earn both your MBA Degree and your Master of Finance, while successfully preparing for your CFA ® exams
Our double degree program, the Master of Business Administration and the Master of Finance (CFA®) attracts keen analytical minds. This combination program provides candidates with the strategic leadership skills of the MBA, and the full breadth and depth of the Master of Finance degree, which provides technical “must haves” for a career in asset management and investment banking.
Offered in our convenient part-time alternating weekend schedule, at our 5-star downtown Toronto campus, the program is designed for working professionals and requires four years of part-time study to complete. The summer months of July and August are always free to allow for vacation and free time.
The Lazaridis Double Degree program is unique in Canada. No other degree program of this calibre exists. We provide you with the curriculum and support for challenging Level I and Level II of the CFA® exams, as well as the full-content for two Master level degrees. The effectiveness of our program is evident by the calibre of leadership roles our graduates hold in business, and by the superior pass rates of our candidates on the CFA® exams. Laurier students consistently exceed global pass rates on the CFA® exams.
The MBA degree requires the completion of the Lazaridis Integrated 8-core courses, plus the 610 (Applied Research Consulting project) plus two “free choice” elective courses. The Master of Finance consists of 12-graduate level courses, that includes full preparation for the CFA® exams. Some students pursuing this option may have already achieved their CFA® Level I and will, therefore, qualify for a GMAT waiver and a course exemption. Students are also encouraged to participate in the International summer study program, which offers them a course credit in the MBA degree.
“The Lazaridis Master of Finance program has been accepted into the CFA Institute University Recognition Program. This status is granted to institutions whose degree programs incorporate at least 70% of the CFA Program Candidate Body of Knowledge (CBOK), which provides students with a solid grounding in the CBOK and positions them well to sit for the CFA exams.”University Recognition Program
