The only direct entry program of its kind in Canada
We are the only combination program in Canada, to offer you the opportunity to obtain your MBA degree and be fully prepared to challenge your Common Final Exam (CFE) at the same time.
Upon completion of our four-year part-time alternate weekend program, you will be fully prepared to challenge the CFE right away. And our candidates are not required to have any previous accounting experience to enter the program, we give that to you too.
At Laurier we have a reputation of exceeding expectations. Our previous CMA exam test takers have surpassed the National pass rate, year over year, and we have been awarded more CA Gold medals than any other business school in Canada.
Adding the CPA designation to your MBA degree is an exceptionally smart thing to do. Firstly, you will differentiate yourself from the competition by pursuing the Lazaridis MBA degree. Our Integrated Core courses reflect exactly how the real world works. From day one, you will apply the knowledge from each of the core fundamental business areas to the analysis of real-life case studies. You will compete in international case competitions, and refine your presentation skills through our personal and professional development workshops.
Secondly, during the next stage of your degree, you will take specific courses to work towards achieving Canada’s accounting designation, the CPA (Chartered Professional Accountants.) Upon completion of our program you will be ready to challenge your CFE. There are no extra courses or “to-do’s. We are the only combination, direct entry program in Canada. All of our accredited accounting courses, including the Capstone I & II, ensure that you are fully prepared for the CFE.
Our schedule is the best schedule for working professionals anywhere in the world. Candidates attend classes part-time on alternating weekends, with a good break at Christmas and the summer months of July and August are always free. Our part-time study program extends over a period of 4 years at our downtown Toronto MBA campus
