The Master of Finance is a full content degree achieved in 15 months, part-time study at Laurier’s downtown Toronto campus. This degree will empower and energize you for a rewarding career in investment finance or asset management. Our part-time Master of Finance degree is offered on alternating weekends, which is designed specifically to allow you to comfortably pursue both the degree and continue to work full time. The degree consists of ten graduate level finance courses, which will position you to pursue a career in finance that demands both extensive financial knowledge and excellent quantitative research skills. You will be proficient to conduct expert analysis in equities, fixed incomes, derivative products, corporate finance and portfolio management. There is no other program quite like this. It is a unique and winning scenario.

Admission Requirements

  • A four year undergraduate degree or equivalent, in economics, finance or business with a finance concentration. To be considered, applicants must have a minimum B+ (77%) average over the last two years of their full-time study.
  • Evidence of strong quantitative skills, with the mandatory completion of the GMAT test with a score of 620 or higher. The GMAT may be waived for applicants who have passed either CFA Level I or both Level I & II of the examination with strong performance.
  • Referee Information. Three professional referees, or if you have completed any education within the last three years, two professional referees and one academic referee are required.
  • Applicants whose language of instruction during their undergraduate degree was a language other than English, must furnish evidence of proficiency in English prior to admission. A minimum score on the Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) of 100 internet-based (iBT) (with minimum skill scores of 21 in each of the four skill sets), or TOEFL paper-based (pBT) minimum score of 600, or a minimum score of 7.0 on the IELTS is required.
  • At least two years of full-time work experience.
