Laurier is a leader in entrepreneurship education as a founding academic partner of Communitech, Waterloo Region’s industry innovation centre, and with the Schlegel Centre for Entrepreneurship & Social Innovation being one of Canada’s longest running post-secondary organizations dedicated to entrepreneurship education.

Our unique MBA in Innovation & Entrepreneurship (I&E) is designed for innovative individuals that have an existing, or potential business idea. Students will receive mentorship from a distinct group of community partners, service providers, world-renowned faculty, and a network of Laurier Alumni entrepreneurs. In addition, students will have the opportunity to work at the Communitech Hub, an industry-led innovation centre that is an incubator for entrepreneurs and start-up businesses. Students will network, brainstorm, and be immersed with other like-minded, talented, and hard-working individuals while enrolled in this specialization.

To complete the MBA in Innovation & Entrepreneurship, interested students are required to submit an application with their individual, or group business idea (during Fall term), and upon receipt of acceptance will proceed through the pre-determined elective courses, while simultaneously having the opportunity to create, and expand on a business idea of their own for course credit in their MBA degree.

“The Lazaridis MBA really places emphasis on incorporating knowledge and skills from a broad range of topics, just as managers do on a daily basis. The biggest takeaway is that it’s a mentality – or a way of thinking. You reach this next level of competence and strategic mindset that isn’t taught in just one class; it’s a combination of skills and how to apply those skills that you learn at Laurier, setting you apart.”
