Lazaridis MBA alumni Bryan Fedorak, MBA’14 and his business partner Ryan Close, owners of the startup “Bartesian”, won the prestigious Waterloo Fundica Roadshow Trophy on Mar.29, 2017. It was tough competition. More than 15 local technology-based companies pitched their businesses at the competition, eager to advance to the Canadian Nationals and win the $1 million Investment Award.
Close, Co-Founder of Bartesian, won the Roadshow with his captivating pitch about their innovative product. Bartesian — more commonly known as the “Nespresso/Keurig for cocktails”, creates bar-quality cocktails on demand, providing an effortless way to serve premium cocktails at home. The team intends on being the next leader in adult Christmas gifts with more funding.
“The million dollars would allow us to put some more resources into developing further capsule recipes so that we can expand and grow rapidly along with the demand that we’ve already encountered through major retail, online and hotel,” said Close about how Bartesian would grow their business with the $1 million Investment Award.
