Admission Requirements for Domestic Applicants

  • A four-year undergraduate degree, or equivalent, in any discipline from a recognized university with a minimum B standing (73%) in the final year of study, or most recent 10 half-credit university degree courses.
  • Evidence of strong quantitative skills, normally by the successful completion of the GMAT test with a score of 550 or higher. We also accept a GRE score. A GRE score must convert to the minimum 550 GMAT score required.
  • Referee Information. Three professional referees, or if you have completed any education within the last three years, two professional referees and one academic referee are required.
  • Applicants whose language of instruction during their undergraduate degree was a language other than English, must furnish evidence of proficiency in English prior to admission. A minimum score on the Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) of 100 internet-based (iBT) (with minimum skill scores of 21 in each of the four skill sets), or TOEFL paper-based (pBT) minimum score of 600, or a minimum score of 7.0 on the IELTS is required.
  • A minimum of two years of full-time work experience.

Admission Requirements for International Applicants

International applicants include all applicants that have obtained a previous undergraduate, or Master’s Degree, outside of Canada and will be attending with a Study Visa.

  • Education equivalent to a four-year Canadian undergraduate degree in any discipline from an accredited university with a minimum B average (73%) in the last 10 half credit have courses completed. (Usually displayed as First Class or First Division Standing)
  • The GMAT is mandatory for all students who have achieved their undergraduate degree outside of Canada, with a minimum score of 550. We also accept a GRE score. A GRE score must convert to the minimum 550 GMAT score required.
  • For students whose degrees were conferred by a non-English language institution, a minimum score of 100 internet-based (with minimum skill scores of 21 in each of the four skill sets), on the Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL), or a minimum score of 7.0 on the IELTS is required.
  • Referee Information. Three professional referees, or if you have completed any education within the last three years, two professional referees and one academic referee are required.
  • A minimum of two years of full-time work experience.

WWaterloo Full-Time MBA with Co-op

Admission Requirements for Domestic Applicants

  • A four-year undergraduate degree in any discipline from a recognized university with a minimum B+ standing (77%) in the final year of study, or most recent 10 half-credit university degree courses.
  • Evidence of strong quantitative skills, with a GMAT score of 600 or higher. The GMAT is mandatory for the co-op program. We also accept a GRE score. A GRE score must convert to the minimum 600 GMAT score required.  In light of our current global circumstances we are aware that some applicants may not be able to complete the GMAT in time to meet the 2020 application deadlines. Please note that if you are applying to the August 2020 intake and have yet to complete the GMAT or GRE we will be reviewing each applicant’s credentials individually for potential GMAT waivers and to provide advice regarding next steps for satisfying the quantitative requirement of the application.
  • Referee Information. Three academic referees, OR, two academic referees and one professional referee, are required.
  • Applicants are not required to have work experience. Eligibility is limited to candidates with less than two years (0-2) of full-time work experience.

  • Applicants whose language of instruction during their undergraduate degree was a language other than English, must furnish evidence of proficiency in English prior to admission.   • Evidence of strong quantitative skills, with the mandatory completion of the GMAT test with a score of 620 or higher. The GMAT may be waived for applicants who have passed either CFA® Level I or both Level I & II of the examination with strong performance.
  • Referee Information. Three professional referees, or if you have completed any education within the last three years, two professional referees and one academic referee are required.

Admission Requirements

  • A four-year Undergraduate Bachelor of Business Administration or Bachelor of Commerce degree achieved in Canada, that was achieved no more than eight (8) years ago, with a minimum B+ average (77%) in the last 20 half credit university degree courses completed.
  • A minimum of three (3) years full-time work experience. Part-time and summer employment between university terms do not apply. At least three to five years of management work experience preferred.
  • Evidence of strong quantitative skills, normally by the successful completion of the GMAT test with a minimum score of 550 or higher. We also accept a GRE score. A GRE score must convert to the minimum 550 GMAT score required.
